Life Summary

Vida was the only child of James Telfer (1866–1946) and his wife Alma Sporer (1881–1965), born on 8 March 1919 at Glencoe West, South Australia. She was active in the Glencoe community from a young age, participating in local school concerts and church events with the Templer family.

Her engagement to Kenneth L. Templer was announced in the Border Watch on 20 September 1945, and they married on 16 February 1946 at Glencoe West. The couple settled in the area and had two children: Peter and Julie.

Vida and Ken later moved to Adelaide. She outlived her husband (who died in 2002) by nearly two decades, passing away on 22 October 2021 at the age of 102. Her funeral was held on 1 November 2021 at the Heysen Chapel, Alfred James & Sons, Unley.

She was remembered as a loving mother to Peter and Julie, grandmother to Paul and Debbie, and great-grandmother to Kate, Zara, Angus, and Ellie. She was also a foster mother to Laura (deceased).
